Rosemary Feely

Our mom, Rosemary Feely, passed away peacefully with her family present on August 24, 2017. She was 92 and lived in Des Moines, Washington. Mom -aka- Kope, mombo, & Grandma books, was inspirational to those around her. She was a leader especially for women during her era as a teacher, swim instructor, lifeguard, book enthusiast, mother, wife and grandma she will be remembered for her love of books, & her continual thirst for learning and interest in just about everything from hummingbirds to the Panama Canal. She was a graduate of St. Catherine's in 1946, and began her teaching career in Rosemount & Annadale.

Mom always had a keen eye for community health & recreation projects. She championed the first swimming classes and new letter H-docks at Lake Marion and one of the first hockey rinks at Farmington High School. Mom had great community support from her stalwart friends such as the McBreen's, Cook's, & Dr. A.H .Field. She was intelligent and a teacher till the very end. My friends were always at our house, not only for the food and laughs and music that was always there, but also the " book club."

Our father, RJ " Mike " Feely, was a Farmington native and they married in 1946. Dad was well remembered for his sense of humor and was one of the early pioneers that worked at PH Feely & Son elevator with his family. Dad passed away at the age of 82 on January 5th, 1998.

The family is very grateful for the compassionate care Rosemary received at Wesley Homes in Des Moines, Washington.

Survived by all of her children, Kathy & Mary of Seattle, Michael of Portland,Or, and Patsi of Oakland, Ca.

Funeral services were already held but all " the kids" will be if Farmington next week for a family reunion. We spread their ashes and finally both of parents can RIP with their old friends. In lieu of a guestbook the family invites you to send any condolences to her old email...koppen25@gmail.com

We love and miss you both greatly. Kathy, Michael, Patsi, Mary & friends.
