Rosemount''s annual Relay for Life gets under way at 6 p.m. Friday and continues through 6 a.m. Saturday at Irish Stadium. There are many aspects wrapped into this single event. There will be ceremonies throughout the evening, which are open to the public. Stacy Lufkin, the chair of Rosemount's Relay for Life, emphasizes that anyone is welcome to attend and be a spectator at the event. Supporting members of the community is a free aspect to this 12-hour event.
Last year, the Rosemount VFW made contact with the Eagan Home Depot looking for a gallon of paint at a discounted price, just to touch up some of their walls. They left with a whole lot more. Following that visit, associates at Home Depot began working with the VFW to coordinate an entire renovation for VFW Post 9433, all provided by the Home Depot Foundation. "Usually if someone is looking for paint, (there is) more to get done," said Cody Wilkens, store manager for the Eagan Home Depot.
