Gary Holthusan began drawing as a young child. Through college, he would draw using pencils and charcoal. After graduation, he went to work at UNIVAC and his artistic pursuits fell to the wayside. At 55, Holthusan retired and decided he should give art another go. This time, he decided to try his hand at painting. He bought a canvas, brushes and some acrylic paint. He also bought books on painting and studied them. He then painted a still life of his grandkids’ toys.
Part of Danbury Way will be improved starting in June 2016. After conducting a public hearing Tuesday, the Rosemount City Council approved the project, which staff anticipates will be done that fall. Three people spoke during the public hearing. One provided clarification to the council on when the road had been paved and another asked about stormwater plans. One resident commented that he didn't feel the city needed to replace the subgrade.
