Letter: Teachers say two education bills are flawed
To the editor, Two education bills, the E-12 Omnibus Education Bill (HF934) and HF945, are currently moving through the Minnesota legislature, certain to be passed by the House and Senate. A significant amount of public debate and media attention to these bills have focused on the...

Letter: Get your facts straight before you write
To the editor, I do not wish to engage in a public tit-for-tat debate, however, I simply cannot let a fellow citizen once again lead the public of Rosemount down a misinformed path. In response to Kathy Klonecky's letter to the editor of last week regarding my suggestion of a task...

Letter: Port authority didn't want to listen
To the editor, I am writing to back up what Kurt Hansen said in his opinion last week. I think that the Rosemount Port Authority doesn't want to listen to residents who say what they don't want to hear. The port authority thinks they have so much power. Why should they? This commission...

Letter: City deserves thanks for the development work it has done
To the editor, I would like to sincerely thank our city council and port authority for the great job they are doing in leading our city. In no other city do we hear of a reduced tax levy in our current times. Thank you. Thank you. On April 19 the port authority and city council...

Letter: City's development forum was a waste of time
To the editor, On April 14, the Rosemount Town Pages newspaper carried a rather minuscule announcement under the category of government meetings. In total it said: "The Rosemount Port Authority will meet at 5:30 p.m.

Letter: Cat ordinance is wrong place to cut
To the editor, I strongly disagree with the city council's March 15 decision to no longer prohibit cats from roaming loose in the streets of Rosemount. I think that it's inhumane to leave stray and runaway cats in the cold, especially when the temperatures are freezing outside.

Letter: Protect your pets by having them microchipped
To the editor, The City of Rosemount just announced that they will no longer require licenses for cats, and also plan to stop impounding stray cats. It appears this decision was made primarily for budgetary reasons, by city staff, and without soliciting public feedback. The city...

Letter: Rosemount has turned its backs on cats
To the editor, "One can measure the greatness and the moral progress of a nation by looking at how it treats its animals." Mahatma Gandhi I am a recent graduate of Rosemount High School and currently a student at the University of St. Catherine, a university I chose because I...

Letter: Parent has concerns about bullying
To the editor, I have concerns regarding the bullying that is going on at the school. My son has been bullied at school repeatedly. Telling a child to go to a teacher, counselor or the office is not enough for these kids. They are not going to do it nine out of 10 times. Where...

Letter: Council did not put voters first
To the editor, One of the surest ways to increase low voter confidence is to override citizen voters. This is exactly what happened at the grand finale council work session last week that isolated the choice candidate of the Rosemount mayor and three city council members. A citizen...

Letter: Unhappy with the appointment process
To the editor, The administrative workings of Rosemount never cease to amaze and disappoint. I recently caught a re-run of the film adaptation of George Orwell's novel, 1984, on TV and was chilled at how similar the scenarios were to those in our town. In the story, there is both...

Letter: Napper campaigns for Judy, or maybe himself
To the editor, In the Dec. 9 Rosemount Town Pages (it was reported) the city council is looking for a resident to take on the two years left of Kurt Bills' seat on the council. Mayor Droste says the person who is appointed has got to figure things out fast. This Kurt Bills must be...

Letter: Bills thanks voters for their support
To the editor: I want to take just a moment to thank everyone who took time out of his or her busy schedule to vote in the Nov. 2 election. Taking the time to exercise your civic and community responsibility is to be admired. Many races this year were hotly contested and very close....
