Rosemount Irish swimmers Grant Toenges and Cody Spaeth competed at the state swimming and diving meet this past week held at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. Toenges, a senior, qualified for the state meet in the 100-yard butterfly and the 100 backstroke, while Spaeth, a junior, qualified in the 500 freestyle.

Toenges made it to the finals of both events. He finished eighth in the 100 butterfly with a time of 51.68 seconds and was 15th in the 100 backstroke in 52.96. Spaeth swam a 4:51.60 in the preliminaries of the 500 freestyle, but did not advance to the finals. Check back later this week for comments from both swimmers and head coach Jake Kemna.
