Irish close out 6-9 regular season
The Rosemount boys tennis team closed out the regular season by winning two out of three matches last week, improving its record to 6-9 heading into this week's section tournament.
Brothers Anshul and Aashish Bharath each closed out 3-0 weeks in singles play with two-set victories in the Irish's 5-2 loss to Hastings May 12. Three days earlier, they led the team to its second South Suburban Conference win of the spring, a 7-0 shutout of Farmington. Ben Haisting and Jake Green completed the singles sweep and the Irish won all three doubles matches while surrendering just four Tiger points.
The Bharaths and Green all won their singles matches in teh May 8 5-2 decision over South St. Paul. Thomas Huffstutler and Ben Olson overcame a first set loss to win their doubles match 4-6, 7-5 (10-8) and Unnath Salagram and Garrett Frey won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 3 doubles.
