Girls lacrosse: Irish drop 7th straight to Jaguars

The Rosemount girls lacrosse team will wrap up their season Friday.

The Rosemount girls lacrosse team allowed more than 20 goals for the fourth straight game and suffered its seventh straight defeat Monday night at Bloomington Jefferson.

The Jaguars improved to 5-3 and produced their highest offensive output of the season in a 21-8 victory.

Darby Henjum paced the visitors with four goals. Madi Lubeley added a hat trick and Maggie Moeller had one goal. Goaltender Charlie Belden finished with 17 saves.

Two days earlier, the Irish were bombarded by 31 shots on goal in a 21-9 setback to fifth-ranked Lakeville South at Irish Stadium.

Sydney Narloch accounted for over half the Irish’s goals, finding the net five times. Meghan Tuccitto scored twice and Moeller, Sam Rhody and Angela Bodine each scored once.

Belden stopped five shots in 34 minutes in goal and Emily Peterson made five saves in the final 16 minutes.

The Irish opened last week with another home loss to a ranked South Suburban Conference team. Third-ranked Apple Valley came to Irish Stadium last Tuesday and pulled away with a 24-6 win.

Henjum pace the Irish with a pair of goals. Moeller, Narloch, Rhody and Hillary Smith each tacked on single goals. Moeller, Rhody and Lubeley each tallied assists.

Belden and Peterson each recorded three saves.

 The regular season comes to a close with contests against Lakeville North Friday and Burnsville on Tuesday.
