Boys hockey: Irish tie at Eastview

Blake Storholm handles the puck for Rosemount during a recent home game.

Ryan Foley scored Rosemount’s lone goal at the 15:26 mark of the third period and the Irish skated to a 1-1 overtime tie Saturday against Eastview at Apple Valley Sports Arena.

The Lightning, who entered as the third-place team in the South Suburban Conference, posted a 38-15 advantage in shots on goal. Only one of those shots got by Rosemount goaltender Tom Fraune, who finished with 37 saves in 58 minutes between the pipes.

The tie ended Rosemount’s four-game losing streak and its five-game skid against league opponents.

The Irish close out the regular season with a road game tonight at Woodbury and a trip to Bloomington Jefferson Saturday afternoon.
