Pipers baseball: Burnsville Bulldogs win 12-0

The Rosemount Pipers’ pitching staff couldn’t slow down the Burnsville Bulldogs in last Wednesday’s meeting at Alimagnet Park.

The Bulldogs pounded out 13 hits in four-plus innings and plated six runs in the bottom of the fifth to win by the 12-run rule, 12-0. All nine Bulldog starters had at least one hit and eight players drove in runs.

“Although we had a few errors, Burnsville’s bats were on fire all night,” Rosemount player/manager Ken Fry said. “We left ours in Rosemount.”

Fry supplied two of the Pipers’ four hits. Jason Moe and Jesse Riebel each added singles.

Riebel started on the mound and surrendered seven runs (four earned) over the first four innings.

The Pipers were rained out Monday night at league-leading Minnetonka. The team is back home Sunday for a doubleheader against Monticello and Edina. The first game begins at 2 p.m.
