Wild Irish come from behind again, head to section championship

Being behind in the Section 3 tournament hasn't been a problem for the Rosemount/Eagan girls lacrosse team. For the second straight game, they posted a come-from-behind victory to beat Apple Valley 14-13.

Seeded No. 7, the Wild Irish advanced to the section championship game against No. 4 seed Bloomington Jefferson. The Jaguars beat No. 1 seed Bloomington Kennedy 12-6.

The section championship is scheduled for Thursday, June 2 at 5 p.m. at Bloomington Jefferson.

Rosemount/Eagan scored three times in the final 4:12, including the tying goal by Simone Haugen and the winning tally by Cassie Miller.

Maddie Johnson scored five goals for the Wild Irish. Haugen added four goals and an assist.

Miller had a goal and two assists. Abi Rodstein scored three times.

Lisa Crow added the other goal. Sydney Lubeley tallied three assists.

Kate Sullivan made eight saves in 39:11 in goal. Annie Smith made three saves in 10:49 in goal.
