Girls Golf: Finishing at state

Rosemount senior Amanda Northwick got the chance to finish her Irish golf career in the best way possible.

Northwick qualified for this week's Class 2A state meet at Bunker Hills Golf Course, and finished in a tie for 47th place with a total score of 185.

The lone Rosemount girl to qualify for this year's state meet, Northwick shot a 94 on the first day of play, and carded a 91 on Wednesday in the two-day, two-round meet.

She improved from 53rd place after the first round, to 47th overall at the end.

In her opening round, she shot matching 47s on the front and back nine holes.

On Wednesday in the second round, she improved her score and moved up the chart with a 46 on the front and a 45 on the back.

Northwick finished with a combined 172 at the section meet, which was played at Phalen Golf Course and Bunker Hills.
