Margaret J. Trygstad

Margaret Jeanne Trygstad, 99, of Farmington, MN died Monday, June 4,2018. Jeanne was born on June 2, 1919 to Christ and Emma Tretsven in Milltown, WI. She grew up in St. Paul, MN where she graduated from high school and Bethel College. Shortly after college she met a young Luther Seminarian, Gordon Trygstad. She became a Lutheran minister's wife in February 1945 when they married. They moved to the West Coast where they served parishes in Oregon, Washington and British Columbia for 20 years before moving back to the Midwest to serve parishes in Wisconsin & Minnesota. Jeanne was an intelligent woman full of poise, grace and kindness. But, devotion is the word that is the cornerstone of her life. Devotion to God, her family, and friends. That strong love and loyalty was felt at every family gathering. She was immensely proud of her family and took joy in expressing her love through her creative talents in handwork - sewing, knitting and needlework. Jeanne was a beautiful example of steadfast love and loyalty which is the framework of our memories of her. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gordon; brother, Dick Tretsven, and daughter Karen (Mark) Halvorson. She is survived by children, John (Mary) Trygstad of Eagan, MN and Paul (Gail) Trygstad of Two Harbors, MN; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, and many loving relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Farmington Lutheran Church, 20600 Akin Rd., Farmington, MN; with a visitation one hour prior to service.
