Two Rosemount businesses failed liquor compliance checks

Two Rosemount businesses failed compliance checks in December. On Dec. 15 the Rosemount Police Department conducted checks for all businesses in the city that hold liquor licenses except the Rich Valley golf course. Employees at Rosemount Liquor and Wine Cellar and Pizza Hut sold alcohol to an underage purchaser.

The violation at Rosemount Liquor was the first under the current ownership. The store, which has a troubled past of failed compliance checks, was bought in March by David Landgrebe. Under the former ownership the store had five compliance check failures in five years.

This was the first violation for Pizza Hut, which is owned by Sky Ventures.

Both businesses have agreed to pay a civil penalty of $500. Additionally the employees who sold the alcohol were charged. The Rosemount City Council will approve the penalties tomorrow night during the regularly scheduled meeting.
