Rosemount schools closed again Tuesday

The Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan School District will add one more day to its growing list of cold-related school closures Tuesday, Jan. 28.

The district announced the decision on its web page Monday afternoon, citing extreme cold and high winds for the reason. The district's message states that concerns about students waiting at bus stops, bus breakdowns and the chance for frostbite in as little as five to 10 minutes contributed to the decision.

All after-school and evening activities were canceled for Monday. The district will make a decision Tuesday about that day's activities.

The district plans to add school days to make up for the time students have lost to weather-related closures. Those decisions would be communicated to parents "well in advance" of the added days, according to the message.
