Businesses pass liquor compliance checks

The Rosemount Police Department conducted alcohol compliance checks in late May and had 100 percent compliance.

Outgoing police chief Eric Werner said businesses that serve alcohol in Rosemount have taken it upon themselves to keep alcohol out of the hands of minors.

“We’re happy with the businesses. 100 percent compliance is what we want to see,” said Werner.

The checks are done to ensure bars, restaurants and other businesses are complying with state laws regarding the sale of alcohol. Businesses and the employees that fail checks are subject to fines and other penalties.

The police department conducts alcohol compliance checks at least twice a year. The next check will be completed sometime in the fall.
