Rosemount man charged with criminal sexual assault
A Rosemount man has been charged with third degree sexual conduct after raping a girl several times in her home. Alfredo Martinez Sosa, 26, faces 15 years in prison for engaging in sexual intercourse with a girl under 16 years old.
According to the criminal complaint Rosemount Police officers were called to a home Dec. 5 after the mother of the girl reported that her daughter had been raped by a family friend.
The girl, who only was described as being under 16 but over 13 years old, told police that in November 2010 Sosa had sexual intercourse with her twice.
She told police that Sosa snuck into her bedroom around 3 a.m. while her family was sleeping.
After the second incident the girl told Sosa she did not want to have intercourse again. According to the complaint Sosa responded that he would be coming to see her again and so the girl decided to tell her mother, who then contacted police.
Police set up a perimeter around the girl's house and at 3:18 a.m. Sosa was seen walking towards the home. Police arrested Sosa as he entered the family's yard.
According to the complaint Sosa denied having sexual intercourse with the girl. He told police the girl was giving him English lessons. Additionally he told police he thought the girl was about 14 years old.
Sosa had his first court hearing Dec. 7. Bail was set at $600,000. He is still in the Dakota County Jail.
His next hearing will be Dec. 27 at 1:30 p.m. at the Dakota County Courthouse.
