Rosemount man killed in Goodhue County crash

A 57-year-old Rosemount man was one of two people killed in a Wednesday afternoon accident in Goodhue County.

Michael Forte was driving a motorcycle westbound on County Road 9 in Leon Township around 2:30 p.m. when he was hit by a northbound passenger car driven by a 46-year-old Kenyon man. Forte and his passenger, 43-year-old Jilleen Comstock of Apple Valley, were both thrown from the motorcycle.

Both Forte and Comstock were pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Department, the driver of the passenger car had stopped at a stop sign and proceeded through the intersection without seeing the motorcycle.

After it was hit by the car, Forte’s motorcycle continued through the intersection and hit a dump truck driven by a 76-year-old Cannon Falls man.

There were no other injuries in the accident.
