Theater group plans auditions

The Front Porch Players of Rosemount, a new Community Theater group just formed as a part of the Rosemount Area Arts Council, will hold auditions this month for its first two plays, coming up in June.

Auditions for Neil Simon’s comedy “Barefoot in the Park” and a melodrama, “A Penny Saved,” will take place at the Steeple Center in Rosemount, 13885 South Robert Trail in Rosemount at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 13 and 7 p.m. Monday, April 14. Interested individuals may audition for one or both plays.

Barefoot in the Park will have six performances, all at the Steeple Center, on Fridays-Sundays, June 13, 14 and 15 and June 20, 21 and 22. A Penny Saved will have one performance on Wednesday, June 25 at 7 p.m. at the Rosemount Central Park Amphitheater as part of the Rosemount Area Arts Council’s first “ART BLAST!”

Rehearsals begin the first week of May.

Roles available are for males and females, aged 20-60. All interested parties are encouraged to try out.

Much non-acting help is needed as well, from costuming to set building.
