Pawlenty appoints Rosemount man to board

Governor Tim Pawlenty appointed Rosemount resident Carl Peterson to the Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Geoscience and Interior Design today according to a press release from the governor's office.

Along with Peterson, Mary E. Deeg, David Fisher, James N. Grube, Micki Miller, and Robert F. Seeger, received appointments to the board. The governor also reappointed Kristine A. Kubes and Mary M. West. They all will serve four year terms.

The Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design licenses and regulates architects, engineers, land surveyors, landscape architects, geoscientists and certifies interior designers. The board consists of 21 members appointed by the governor.

Peterson is a partner in the Peterson, Peterson certified public accounting firm. His work is focused in the real estate and professional service industries.

A CPA, he is a member and past chair of the Minnesota Society of CPAs, and is active in its legislative affairs, tax and construction conference. He is also a member of the American Institute of CPAs Governing Council, and the Minnesota Business Ethics Award Steering Committee, and has been an active volunteer in his community and school district. Peterson earned his bachelor of science degree in accounting from Kansas State University in Manhattan. Peterson replaces Diane Johnson on the board as a public member.
