Guitar Hero

Teens can play Guitar Hero and Dance Dance Revolution on the big screen at the Robert Trail Library from 3 to 4:30 p.m. April 24.

April 25

Scouting for food

Cub Scout Packs 270 and 295 and Boy Scout Troops 207, 270 and 295 will go door to door in Rosemount on the morning of April 25 collecting food and other items for the local food shelf. There is a great need right now. Scouts will have a list of items that are needed.

Pancake breakfast

Boy Scout Troop 455 will host an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, April 25 at the Rosemount American Legion.The event will include a bake sale and raffle. Tickets are $5 and available at the door.

Blood drive at RUMC

A blood drive will be held at the Rosemount United Methodist church 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25 in the family life center.

First Baptist birthday party

First Baptist Church will celebrate its 50th Anniversary beginning with the 9:30 a.m. Sunday school and continuing throughout the day.

A morning service will be held at 10:45 a.m. and will feature Dr. Shelton Smith, editor of Sword of the Lord. At 12:30 a potluck luncheon will be held and at 2 p.m. a special afternoon service will begin.

Applause auditions

Applause Community Theater will hold auditions for its summer show, "The Wizard of Oz," from 6 to 9 p.m. April 27 and 28 at the Lakeville Arts Center. For more go to

Poetry slam

There will be a poetry slam from 7 to 8:30 p.m. April 29 at the Robert Trail Library. The library will also announce the winners of its teen poetry contest.

May 2

Band garage sale

The Rosemount High School marching band will hold its seventh annual garage sale Saturday, May 2 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the high school student center.

Donations for the garage sale will be accepted at the collection trailer in the high school parking lot during the following times: April 25, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; April 26, noon to 3 p.m.; April 27 - 30, 6 to 8 p.m.; May 1, 4 to 8 p.m.

Arbor Day Celebration

The city of Rosemount will celebrate the 17th annual Arbor Day and give away trees Saturday, May 2 starting at 10 a.m.

The city will also give away trees from six to eight feet in height to residents of Rosemount. There will be a variety of tree species available.

The first 150 residents of Rosemount who have proof of residency will receive a tree. Due to limited quantity, there is a limit of one tree per household.

Teen night

Rosemount youth in grades 6-8 who attend school in Rosemount or live within Rosemount city boundaries are invited to attend the monthly supervised teen nights at the Rosemount Community Center from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Teen Night is a safe environment where youth can socialize and interact with each other in a positive way. Activities include music, games and open gym. Cost is $2 per person.

Master Gardener plant sale

The Let's Get Planting Master Gardener plant Sale will be on Saturday, May 9 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Master Gardener Education and Research Display Garden at UMore Park. This is a very popular community event with customers lining up with their wagons hours before opening so plan to get there early.

RHS boys soccer pancake breakfast

The Rosemount High School Boys Soccer program will host a pancake breakfast at Applebee's in Rosemount 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, May 9. Tickets are $6. For more information contact Matha Danes at 651-423-0322.
