Wii at the library

Teens can play Nintendo Wii games at the Robert Trail Library from 3 to 5 p.m. April 10.

Teen night

Rosemount youth in grades 6-8 who attend school in Rosemount or live within Rosemount city boundaries are invited to attend the monthly supervised teen nights at the Rosemount Community Center from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Teen Night is a safe environment where youth can socialize and interact with each other in a positive way. Activities include music, games and open gym. Cost is $2 per person.

Friends of the library meeting

The Robert Trail Library will host a Friends of the Library meeting Saturday, April 11 beginning at 10 a.m.

Hear details on how to become a member or participant of the Friends group. Members from the Heritage Library in Lakeville will discuss how they got their group started.

The Robert Trail Library will hold a summer job workshop from 3 to 4:30 p.m. April 17.

Teens 14 and older can get tips on how to fill out applications, what to wear to find a job and more.

Relay for Life

Relay for Life Rosemount will hold a team captain meeting Thursday, April 23 at 6:30 p.m. at Rosemount Middle School Library.

Guitar Hero

Teens can play Guitar Hero and Dance Dance Revolution on the big screen at the Robert Trail Library from 3 to 5 p.m. April 24.

Poetry slam

There will be a poetry slam from 7 to 8:30 p.m. April 29 at the Robert Trail Library. The library will also announce the winners of its teen poetry contest.

May 2

Band garage sale

The Rosemount High School marching band will hold its seventh annual garage sale Saturday, May 2 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the high school student center.

Donations for the garage sale will be accepted at the collection trailer in the high school parking lot during the following: April 25, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; April 26, noon to 3 p.m.; April 27 - 30, 6 to 8 p.m.; May 1, 4 to 8 p.m.

Arbor Day Celebration

The city of Rosemount will celebrate the 17th annual Arbor Day and give away trees Saturday, May 2 starting at 10 a.m.

The city will also give away trees from six to eight feet in height to residents of Rosemount. There will be a variety of tree species available.

The first 150 residents of Rosemount who have proof of residency will receive a tree. Due to limited quantity, there is a limit of one tree per household.

Master Gardener plant sale

The Let's Get Planting Master Gardener plant Sale will be on Saturday, May 9 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Master Gardener Education and Research Display Garden at UMore Park. This is a very popular community event with customers lining up with their wagons hours before opening so plan to get there early.
