Marching band wins at Eastview

Rainy weather forced the bands indoors but that didn't stop the Rosemount High School marching band from continuing its winning ways in its first competition of the 2008 season.

The Irish took first place in class AAA at the Eastview Marching Band Festival. Irondale was second, Eden Prairie third and Champlin Park fourth. AAA is the biggest class for marching bands in Minnesota.

Rosemount also took the top prizes for their color guard, drumline and hornline and Connor Carroll took an award as Outstanding Soloist.

Rosemount, the two time defending state marching band champion, hosted the season's first competition but as the host school performed in exhibition.
