On July 15, Jason Waage stood in front of the Rosemount City Council and took the officer’s oath. Supported by his friends, family and comrades the 21-year-old accomplished a dream. He’s now a police officer.

Leprechaun Days is off and running
The annual Leprechaun Days kiddie parade once again drew a good crowd of kids in costumes Sunday afternoon. The event was one of several held starting Friday as part of Leprechaun Days.

Highway 3 will close at 7 a.m. July 22; detour is in place

Highway 3 at the intersection of 190th Street between Rosemount and Farmington will close at 7 a.m., Tuesday July 22 for the construction of a roundabout. The closure will be in place through September 30.

Storm causes damage around Rosemount
High winds pushed this tree over onto the home of Steve and April Neu. They live on the corner of Chippendale Avenue West and 143rd Street. Several neighbors came over with chainsaws to help them cut the tree down. There were several other trees blown over around the city.

There are only a few days left to file for open positions on the Dakota County Soil and Water Conservation board. Those interested in influencing state and county conservation practices have to file for their candidacy by July 15.
