Summer job workshop

The Dakota County Workforce Center will provide information to help teens find summer jobs from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. March 5 at the Robert Trail Library.

March 6

Alphabet Adventure

Visit 10 different cultures and the interesting people who handed down humanity's greatest invention: writing at 10:30 a.m. March 6 at the Robert Trail Library.

Experience the continuous evolution of the alphabet, from caves to clay to cursive. This program was funded in part or in whole with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on Nov. 4, 2008 which dedicated funding to preserve Minnesota's art and cultural heritage.

Ancient Writing Techniques

The Robert Trail Library will host an event on ancient writing techniques at 2 p.m. March 6. Draw your own hieroglyphics on papyrus, the first paper-like writing surface made from papyrus reeds. Make imprints of ancient cuneiform letters on a clay tablet. Ages 5-12. Space is limited.

Rosemount UMC Chili cook-off

The Rosemount United Methodist Church will host a chili cook-off after its 10:30 a.m. service March 7. Tickets are $5 per person or $15 for a family.
