Learn to knit at the library

All teens are welcome to come to the Robert Trail Library and learn to knit or learn some tips to improve their knitting skills. Boys and girls will enjoy the opportunity to learn a handy craft and have a finished product at the end. Now's the time to turn creativity to work and get a jump on a summer project. Expert instruction will be given by the Yarn Garage. The classes will be three Fridays in a row, June 12, 19 and 26. The time is from 3 to 5 p.m. Pre-registration is not required and teens don't have to attend all three classes. Yarn and needles will be supplied.

The library also will launch its "One Rosemount, One Scarf" program. The library will have ongoing scarf knitting in the library that anyone can take part in. The library hopes to give the scarves away to those in need this winter.

Teens will get the first scarf started at their classes now in June and after that anyone may participate. Look for the basket starting June 15; it will be sitting on the reference shelves surrounded by good knitting books.
