Thursday, April 20

Spring Open House

Simply Massage & Spa will host a spring open house from 5-8 p.m at 14465 South Robert Trail. Free mini services will include chair massage, facials, healing touch, paraffin hand treatments. Also present will be Dr. Katie from Discover Chiropractic, Victoria from BlurBerryBuzz providing her one of a kind henna tattoos, and Katie with doTerra oils providing mini sessions. There will be swag bags for the first 15 guests, catering by Rudy's Redeye Grill, 25 percent off all retail and all services booked during the open house, one free massage with purchase or renewal of membership, and door prizes drawn every hour.

Friends of the Robert Trail Library Book Sale

The Friends of the Robert Trail Library annual book sale will continue through April 22 at the library, 14395 S. Robert Trail. The sale will be open to the general public from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 20, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, April 21. On Saturday, April 22, stop by from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the Bag Sale, all the books that fit in a grocery bag for $5. There are too many books to fill the room, so the supply will be replenished daily.

Bluegrass Concert Series

The Rosemount Area Arts Council is delighted to welcome back ​Bernie King & the Guilty Pleasures for the fourth in a series of five evenings of bluegrass, at 7 p.m. at the Steeple Center, 14375 South Robert Trail. Tickets are $10 each and are available at www.rosemountarts.com or at the door the night of the show.

Wellness Expo and Family Fun

Attend a free day of family fun mixed with learning and shopping at local vendors from 1-5 p.m. at 14879 S. Robert Trail. From 1-2 p.m., join Dr. Scott Hoppe and Lori Kearney for a wellness workshop. From 2-4 p.m. there will be a bounce house and face painting, giving parents time to connect with speakers and shop local vendors. Robert Trail Book Club

The Robert Trail Book Club meets from 7 to 8 p.m. the last Tuesday of each month. This month's selection is "The Healing" by Jonathan Odell.

Storytime for Babies

Children from newborn to 24 months can enjoy stories, songs, bounces and playtime from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. at the Robert Trail Library.

iPad Basics

Come to the Robert Trail Library from 1-3 p.m. and use our iPads to learn about basic controls, settings, web browsing, apps and uses of this popular tablet. Registration is required.

Storytime for 2s-6s

Children ages two through six can come to the Robert Trail Library from 10:30-11:15 a.m. to read, play, sing, talk and write together with stories and activities to develop early literacy skills for toddlers and preschoolers. Siblings are welcome.

Mayor's State of the City Address

Rosemount Mayor Bill Droste will deliver his annual state of the city address at 8 a.m. in the Rosemount Steeple Center, 14375 South Robert Trail. The Mayor will discuss accomplishments by government, businesses, and volunteer organizations during the past 12 months. He will also review the new set of goals for the community that the City Council is expected to approve this spring. The speech will take place during a meeting of local members of the Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce. The event is open to the public.

Drop into the Robert Trail Library from 3:30-4:30 p.m. for a variety of fun activities for ages 10 to 16 after a long week of school.

Kids 'n Kinship Information Meeting

The Kids 'n Kinship mentoring program is holding a volunteer information session from 10-10:45 a.m. at the Robert Trail Library in Rosemount. Individuals, couples, and families who have a desire to be a role model and special friend for a child are invited to attend an information session. Sphero Chariot Racing

Kids ages nine to 16 can come to the Robert Trail Library from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and create a chariot out of Legos that uses the Sphero Robot for power and then race it. The fastest chariot around our group-designed course wins. Registration is required.

ABBA Tribute Concert

The Rosemount Area Arts Council will present ABBASolutely Fab, an ABBA tribute concert, at 7 p.m. at the Steeple Center, 14375 South Robert Trail. Tickets are $18 each and are available at www.rosemountarts.com or at the door the night of the show. This concert is part of the Rosemount Area Arts Council's Tribute Band Concert Series.

Arbor Day celebration and tree giveaway

Observe the 25th Annual Rosemount Arbor Day with a brief program hosted by Mayor Bill Droste at 10 a.m. at the Rosemount Public Works garages, 14425 Brazil Ave. The city will also be giving away trees from six to eight feet in height to residents of Rosemount. The tree species for this year are Maple Fall Fiesta, River Birch, Littleleaf Linden, Kentucky Coffeetree Espresso and Silver Maple (all are subject to change). The first 180 residents of Rosemount who have proof of residency will receive a tree. Due to limited quantity, there is a limit of one tree per household. Due to the sensitive nature of bare root trees, they will need to be planted within 24 hours of the giveaway. Remember to call "Gopher State One Call" 72 hours in advance at 651-454-0002 before you dig. More information can be obtained from Dakota Electric at 651-463-6212.

Irish Way Spring Fling

Join Rosemount Elementary School families and community members in stepping outside, getting active and supporting the educational programs brought to students by REPTO — while enjoying fun activities for the Rosemount Elementary School Spring Fling. The 5K, 1-Mile Fun Run and Spring Fling will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday, May, 13, at Rosemount Elementary School. The 5K starts at 9:15 a.m. and is $20 per runner. The 1-Mile Fun Run starts at 10:15 a.m. and is $10 per runner. There is a $40 family cap. Due to course restrictions, these runs are not able to accommodate pets or strollers. All runners are encouraged to wear Irish Way T-shirts, green shirts or other Rosemount Irish attire. Deadline is April 30. For the run events, register at bit.ly/2nPET4Z.

Walk at the Community Center

Rosemount Parks and Recreation offers adults of all ages the opportunity to walk at the Rosemount Community Center at 13885 S. Robert Trail. Walkers may walk in the hallways between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, or in the gymnasium from 8-9 a.m. on weekdays (closed holidays). Walking maps are available at the Parks & Recreation office on the lower level of the community center.
