Purple Rain will screen in Rosemount

Prince fans who want to continue celebrating the Minnesota music icon's life will have several opportunities this week in Rosemount.

Marcus Theatres' Rosemount Cinema will screen Prince's Purple Rain several times April 25 through April 28.

Prince, 57, died April 21 at his home in Chanhassen. His death set off spontaneous memorials around the world, from flowers outside his home to all-night dance parties in and around First Avenue, the famous downtown Minneapolis venue that serves as an important setting in 1984's Purple Rain. Monuments around the world were lit with purple lights in Prince's honor.

In Rosemount, Marcus Theatres will screen Purple Rain at 7:30 and 9:55 p.m. April 25; 7, 8 and 9:40 p.m. April 26; 8, 10 and 10:15 p.m. April 27; and 7 p.m. April 28. It is one of several Marcus Theatres locations in Minnesota to show the movie.
