Cassano receives EMS Lifesaver of the Year award

Rosemount physical education teacher Tracy Cassano received Dakota County's Emergency Medical Services Lifesaver of the Year award at a ceremony May 11 at Brackett’s Crossing in Lakeville. Cassano was nominated by fellow Rosemount teacher Chris Orr, whom she helped resuscitate after he suffered a heart attack during class in Irish Gym on March 3. "It was quite an honor to be recognized with this award, but the best part of the day was being presented the award by Chris, sitting next to him, talking and laughing with him like I get to do every day at Rosemount High School," Cassano said. "Seeing him joking around and smiling is the greatest and knowing I was a part of the team that made that possible. It's pretty cool."
