Rain couldn’t keep a good party down and so despite less than desirable weather Septemberfest had its first go around Saturday and Sunday. While the rain may have kept a few people away, plenty still showed up for the Dakota County Technical College event that featured the successful talent contest Dakota County’s got Talent.
Dakota County Technical College received a $3 million grant to develop the Midwest Center for Nanotechnology Education from the National Science Foundation. The college learned it had received the grant early in September.
For this week's Town Pages newspodcast staff writer Emily Zimmer took a drive out to Dakota County Technical College. DCTC held its first Septemberfest community festival Saturday and Sunday and even rainy weather couldn't keep crowds away. One of the most popular attractions was Dakota County's Got Talent, a talent show featuring a number of local acts. Emily talked with three of the top finishers.
