Despite storms, Relay for Life brings in $29,000
Despite some pretty frightening weather the Rosemount Relay for Life went well, said chair Nancy Kelly. With severe storms threatening, the event was moved at the 11th hour into the Rosemount Irish Dome. Considering the torrential down pour that occurred during the event, that proved to be a good idea.

Odors draw complaints at feed plant
The immediate problem appears to be solved, but state investigators are still trying to figure out how rotten organic matter was allowed to cause a stink at Rosemount’s Endres Processing.

With budget set, levy talk comes next
After months of discussions and some significant cuts the final approval of District 196’s preliminary budget went by without incident Monday.
Board members approved a budget that includes $15 million in budget adjustments, including the elimination of about 90 classroom teaching positions. Discussion about those cuts began in December, and the final decision was made in April.

Highway 3 road work should finish on schedule
The Highway 3 construction project is nearly complete. The new traffic signal at the 145th Street intersection should go on today, marking the end of the two-month project.

Growth has slowed in Dakota County
The 2010 Community Indicators Report shows that while the county growth continues to be slow, Dakota County remains the state’s third-most populated county. There are more than 390,000 people living in Dakota County.
