Wilberding completes basic training at West Point

Cadet Bryce Wilberding, son of Jay and Judy Neudecker of Rosemount completed Cadet Basic Training at the U.S. Military Academy.

Rosemount holds Memorial Day ceremony

Rosemount's veterans' organizations teamed up to hold the city's annual Memorial Day ceremonies Monday. The day started with an event at Central Park and included visits to several area cemeteries. The Rosemount American Legion offered a free lunch afterward.

Military notes: Airman Joseph Schwartz

Air Force Airman Joseph L. Schwartz graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Schwartz is the son of Julie Crider of Farmington, and Jay Doyscher of Fairmont. He is a 2011 graduate of Rosemount High School.

Rosemount High School held its third annual sendoff of military-bound students Wednesday afternoon, providing an opportunity for 28 students who will either enlist, enroll in a military academy or join a ROTC program to share their stories.

Military notes: Matthew Eischens

Air Force Airman 1st Class Matthew J. Eischens graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Eischens earned distinction as an honor graduate. He is the son of Donald Eischens and brother of Andrew Eischens, both of Rosemount. He is a 2011 graduate of Rosemount High School.
