Editorial: Room for flexibility in design standards
The members of Cedarwood Church are getting frustrated, and it’s easy to see why. The church, which bought land earlier this year on the north end of Rosemount, has faced a number of hurdles as it tries to get clearance to worship in the city.August 26, 2010
Editorial: District had to put a levy on the ballot
The District 196 School Board’s decision Monday to ask voters to approve an operating levy that could bring in an additional $150 million over the next 10 years likely didn’t surprise anybody. A fall levy question has been lurking in the background since the district first started the process that led to $15.3 million in budget adjustments earlier this year. Monday’s vote seemed almost like a formality.

Rosemount is still a safe place
When Dakota Butler stabbed a classmate two years ago to settle an argument, it was shocking. According to Rosemount police it might have been the first recorded homicide in the city’s history and people reacted with disbelief.

There are two stories about animals on the front page of this week’s Rosemount Town Pages. They’re not directly connected, but they are related.
The first is about a discussion the Rosemount City Council had last week regarding a possible change to its ordinance regulating dangerous dogs.

Editorial: Examination of trails should benfit all
For years, the concept of suburban living seemed to go together with non-motorized transportation about as well as summer days went with backyard barbecues. People who lived in cities like Rosemount drove their cars to work. They drove to the store. They drove nearly everywhere they went and that’s the way it was.
