Public works adds online reporting
In an effort to provide more ways to report issues on city property the Rosemount Public Works department has added an online form to report things like potholes or graffiti. While the system is simple in nature, city staff hopes residents will use the form to report non-emergency issues to the city.March 02, 2010

Girls basketball: Irish snap losing streak
It’s been a long time coming for the Rosemount girls basketball team. The Irish’s success during the non-conference portion of the schedule has been well documented. They also started 1-1 in Lake Conference action. Since beating Chaska on Jan. 8, it’s been a long dry spell. Rosemount had lost 12 straight conference games.February 26, 2010

Recovery efforts are ongoing for the people of Haiti who were devastated by an earthquake Jan. 12. Three middle school sports targeted for elimination 
Football, baseball and softball players at Rosemount Middle School will have to find new teams for the 2010-11 school year. A task force formed last August to study middle school sports has recommended responsibility for those sports be shifted to community athletic organizations. Fees will go up for the sports that remain.

County board appoints chief deputy as interim sheriff 
In the end there was no surprise appointment.
At its regular meeting Tuesday, the Dakota County Board of Commissioners, on a unanimous vote, appointed Dakota County Chief Deputy Dave Bellows sheriff, replacing Don Gudmundson, whose resignation is effective Sunday.
