Project puts ears to the test at RMS PressPass

Project puts ears to the test at RMS Seventh grade band students at Rosemount High School start each lesson with an activity that’s a little like the musical equivalent of Simon Says. A series of tones plays out over a speaker, and the corresponding notes are projected on a screen at the front of the room. As soon as the recording stops, the students play the notes back. From time to time, director Casey Clementson interrupts to ask students to identify the notes they’re playing.

District will examine middle schools PressPass

Independent School District 196 is taking a closer look at what makes a middle school successful. A district steering committee will start meeting April 6 to talk about the schedule, structure, curriculum and just about everything else in place at the middle level. The discussion is expected to take much of the year, with a recommendation to the board in December on any changes.
