Restaurant will bring a new international flavor to Rosemount Raisa Prokopenko and her family are bringing a little bit of Russia to Rosemount. With Cafe Raisa, currently taking shape in a space formerly occupied by a Subway sandwich shop, Prokopenko wants to introduce Minnesotans to Russian favorites like cabbage rolls, borsch, pelmeni and vareniki.

OSHA issues fines following accident that killed two PressPass

The Minnesota Occupational Safety and Health Administration has fined CF Industries and High Pressure Transports after finishing its investigation into a Nov. 16 accident at the CF Industries semi loading terminal in Rosemount that led to the death of two truck drivers. High Pressure Transports paid a $25,000 fine and CF Industries $1,400 for their roles in the accident.

State shuts down Rosemount business PressPass

Scott Schoaf says he was a victim of the same bad economy that had been keeping him busy the last several years. Schoaf, a Rosemount resident, has run collection agency Alternative Receivables Solutions, from his home for the past 14 years. But the Minnesota Department of Commerce revoked Schoaf’s debt collector’s license last month after a random audit found he’d been using the money he collected for clients to pay his own bills.

They met in college while they were working for a cell phone retailer, and 2 1/2 years ago they went into business for themselves. In the time since they’ve built a network of their own Wireless Zone stores. The latest opened March 22 in Rosemount.
