Boot hockey tournament brings hundreds to Rosemount
Sixteen teams participated in the SBI Boot Hockey Tournament Saturday in Central Park
It's not often that the Central Park parking lot is full during the winter months but on Saturday drivers had to wait for a spot.
The SBI Boot Hockey Tournament brought hundreds of people to downtown Rosemount. In its third year, the event changed locations form Apple Valley to Rosemount. Organizer Matt Jackson said Central Park worked well for hosting the event.
The SBI Boot Hockey Tournament started as a creative way for a softball team to make some money but has turned into an animal all of its own. Sixteen teams, of five to eight players, participated in the day long event.
Each team was guaranteed at least three games in pool play and then a single elimination narrowed the field.
