Rita Marilyn Kane Hylle - beloved by her husband, sisters, brother, and extended family - passed away on Friday, Jan. 18, in Phoenix, Ariz.

Rita's welcoming, outgoing personality, her wit and warm sense of humor put a smile on the faces of everyone she touched. She shared a passion for education, a passion that exuded beyond her duties as grants administrator and special assistant to the founding chairman at Helios Education Foundation. Prior to moving to Phoenix, Rita and her husband, John, owned businesses in Custer, S.D.; Scottsbluff, Neb.; and Greeley, Colo.

Rita's laughter, caring manner, selflessness, and smile will be sorely missed by all those who knew her, but especially by her family and friends. She is now in the hands of God and joins her grandparents, parents, and nephew.

Rita was born on June 18, 1949, in Minneapolis, Minn., to loving parents Joseph and Helen Kane. She grew up in Rosemount, Minn., where she later married John D. Hylle on Aug. 14, 1971, a marriage that Rita and John shared for 41 years. She attended the University of Minnesota, Georgia Tech University, and Arizona State University.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Helen Kane, and her nephew Michael Brand, and is survived by her husband, John; her sister Sharon (Jerry) Brand; her brother, Jim Kane; her sister Rose Marie Kane; and her nephew Mark Brand.

A Rosary and services were held Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Tempe, Ariz. Interment will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Rita would appreciate a donation be made to St Jude Children's Hospital, Acct #32667938.
