The District 196 Teaching and Learning Department has scheduled a public hearing from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the District Office in Rosemount to take public comment on the K-12 social studies curriculum area that is currently under review.
District residents and employees are invited to attend the public hearing to comment on what they believe students should learn in social studies.
District residents and employees unable to attend the Jan. 15 public hearing may submit ideas via a comment form on the district website. Comment forms are also available at the district office. To be considered in the review process, comments must be submitted by Jan. 22 online or to: Teaching and Learning Department, Independent School District 196, 3455 153rd St. W., Rosemount, MN 55068. Public input from the hearing and comment forms will be included in the process of reviewing and updating the K-12 social studies curriculum. Revised beliefs and goals for social studies will be presented to the school board for review and approval later this school year.
