A search conducted last March at a Rosemount home has resulted in felony drug charges against a 45-year-old local woman.
Dakota County Drug Task Force officers searched Laura Thurber’s home March 21. Officers forced their way into the home after nobody answered their knocks. They found Thurber inside.
The search turned up a multiple pipes with marijuana residue. Officers also found evidence of other drugs.
According to a complaint filed in the Dakota County Attorney’s office, Thurber admitted the items belonged to her. She said she had smoked marijuana the previous week and that she had used methamphetamine a couple of months prior to the search.
If convicted on a fifth-degree drug offense, Thurber could face up to five years in jail and fines of up to $10,000. A petty misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia has a maximum fine of $300.
