Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received at the Western Service Center at Physical Development Administration - 3rd Floor; 14955 Galaxie Avenue; Apple Valley, Minnesota 55124-8579 until 9:00 A.M. on Monday, January 28th, 2013 at which time they will be opened and read aloud for the following County project:

To provide additional flow release capabilities at the Byllesby Dam located in Cannon Falls, Minnesota, an existing earthen fuseplug spillway and adjacent non-overflow structures will be removed and replaced with a new gated spillway section. Contractor will provide engineering, design, materials, supervision, labor, shop fabrication, delivery and Installation Advisor for the supply of two 65’x14’ crest gates, along with necessary equipment and systems, as more fully described in this specification. The Contractor shall supply, but not be limited to, the following items:

•Two hinged crest gates.

•Two hydraulic power units (HPU), including controls and position indication displays, for the operation of each gate separately. The controls and operating system for each gate shall be completely separate.

•Side seal plates and embedments for each pier face.

•Sill seal plates and embedments.

•One complete set of maintenance tools unique to the gate equipment.

•One complete set of erection supplies, including stainless steel nuts, bolts and washers, seal vulcanizer, special gauges, and special templates needed for efficient installation and checking the alignment of the equipment.

•Spare parts for preliminary operation and set-up.

It is anticipated that a contract to perform the work will be awarded by resolution of the Dakota County Board of Commissioners at the County Board meeting scheduled for February 5, 2013.

Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or corporate surety bond, made in favor of Dakota County in an amount of at least five (5) percent of the amount bid. The right is reserved to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive informalities therein.
