Rosemount will host its annual Business Appreciation Luncheon at noon Nov. 15 at the Rosemount Community Center. This year, though, the event will be a little different.
The city will use the hour to get feedback from Rosemount business owners on a number of topics through a real-time polling process. Community development director Kim Lindquist said each person will have a clicker to provide answers to a series of general information questions. Lindquist said the survey will provide valuable data to the city, which will allow staff to start building a database from the information they receive.
Going forward, Lindquist hopes businesses will be willing to provide additional feedback to the city. As part of the luncheon, mayor Bill Droste will also give a short update on the city.
The survey ties into the city’s goal to engage business owners more. Over the last several years the city and more specifically the port authority have worked to strengthen the city’s business community and to better market Rosemount as place to do business.
Another goal of the luncheon is to say thank you to local business owners for doing business in Rosemount. The city has held a business appreciation luncheon most years since 2008. It was started as part of the city’s business retention program.
More than 200 businesses will be invited to attend the event. Invitations were sent out this week. Secretary Kathie Hanson said business owners who do not receive an invitation but would like to attend should call Hanson at 651-322-2051.
Las Tortillas will cater the luncheon.
