The Dakota County Board of Commissioners met on October 2, 2012 and took action with respect to the following matters:

Approvals: County Board Meeting Minutes – September 11, 2012. Acceptance – Space needs assessment and design concept for Farmington Library. Adopted – 2013 Merit Compensation Policy and Plan Provisions. Applications – Repurchase of tax-forfeited parcels by Jason Glass and Charles Liane and Brenda Ruben. Appointments – Jack Phillips to Dakota-Scott Workforce Investment Board. Property – Easement acquisition on County Project (CP) 88-17.

Authorizations: Release draft 2013-2017 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for formal review. Submit statement finding lack of need for new medication-assisted treatment program. Submit comments to Metropolitan Council on proposed rule change. Direction to staff regarding Minnesota River Board (MRB). Direct staff on Whitetail Woods Regional Park phase 1 project site development and architectural concepts. Agreements – Joint funding agreement with United States Geological Survey for installation of river gages at Byllesby Dam. Allocation of Funds – To Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for acquisition of property for aquatic management area. Community Development Agency – Amendment to South St. Paul Community Development Block Grant program. Contracts – 2013 Medicare supplement plans. WATCHGUARD for electronic home monitoring. Representation of indigent parents in CHIPS cases. Bolton & Menk, Inc. for consulting services for alignment of North Urban Regional Trail. Kimley-Horn and Associates for design services for CP 91-23. 2013 group life insurance, long and short-term disability benefit plans, and vision plan. Fitzgerald Excavating & Trucking, Inc. for CP 88-17. Contracts Amendments – G4s Secure Solutions, Inc. for building security services. Joint Powers Agreements (JPA) – State of Minnesota for aeration system. Renew with State of MN and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force for investigating crimes involving children. Withdraw from MRB. Scheduled – 2013 County Board/Committee of the Whole meetings, workshops and public hearings. Public hearings to receive comments on amendments to Ordinance No. 118 and repeal of Ordinance No. 120; and 2013 Dakota County fee schedule.

Information Items: Reports - Invoices Paid in August 2012 and update on JPA with City of Hastings for fleet services. The next regular Dakota County Board meeting will be held October 23, 2012, at 9:00 a.m.
