Public Notice Amend Dakota County Ord. No. 118 and 120

PUBLIC NOTICE

TO AMEND DAKOTA COUNTY ORDINANCE NO. 118 AND

REPEAL ORDINANCE NO. 120

Notice is hereby given of the Dakota County Board of Commissioners' intent to amend Dakota County Ordinance No. 118, Dakota County Planning Commission, and repeal Dakota County Ordinance No. 120, Dakota County Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. The purpose of the proposed ordinance changes is to combine the Dakota County Planning Commission with the Dakota County Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee into a newly organized Planning Commission with broadened responsibilities. The new 14-member committee would be responsible for:

"Updating the County's Comprehensive Plan, including subsidiary plans in the areas of transportation, transit, parks, greenways, water resources, open space, and environmental management. "Providing recommendations on policy direction, capital project and programs, and new initiatives to manage and improve the natural and physical infrastructure of Dakota County, as directed by the Dakota County Board of Commissioners. "Administering official controls as defined by Dakota County's Shoreland and Floodplain Management Ordinance.

The Dakota County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, in the Board Room, Dakota County Administration Center, 1590 West Highway 55, Hastings, Minnesota for the purpose of receiving comments on the proposed amendments of Ordinance No. 118, and repeal of Ordinance No. 120.

Interested persons attending the public hearing shall have the right to provide written or oral comments.
