The Rosemount Planning Commission will reopen a public hearing to take comments on the application for a large-scale mining permit from Dakota Aggregates Sept. 25.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. There are two public hearings on the agenda. The first will be to take comment on a preliminary plat and conditional use permit request from KJ Walk.

The second hearing will take comment on the large-scale mining permit. The planning commission could recommend approval of the permit to the city council during the meeting.

Dakota Aggregates has submitted an application for Large Scale Mineral Extraction permit for the forty year mining operation, the annual operation permit for dry/wet mining sub-phase 1A, and the IUP for the aggregate processing, according to the staff memom. This is a continuation of the public hearing opened on August 28.

In its memo to the planning commission, city staff has recommended approving the various permits with a long list of conditions.
