As you may or may not know, this week is Homecoming week at Rosemount High School. It’s the time of year where all high schoolers come together and enjoy a week as one.

There are plenty of activities going on this week, including dress up days, coronation ceremonies, our homecoming football game and of course the Homecoming dance on Saturday night. No matter how old you are, you can probably remember some variation of a Homecoming dance when you were in high school.

The first Homecoming football game was held in 1911 by Missouri University ag-ainst their bigg-est rival, Kan-sas. For over 100 years the tradition still exists in high schools and some colleges.

Homecoming week at Rosemount started off with comfy day on Monday along with a pep fest introducing the candidates up for Homecoming King and Queen. The rest of the week is filled with even more dress up days and a coronation ceremony to announce the royalty. Tomorrow night will be the Homecoming football game against Prior Lake. The Super Fans will have a yellow out in their section and the Irish hope to see everybody there.

And lastly, the past month has been full of cute ways to ask a girl to Homecoming and it finally pays off Saturday night at the conclusion of this Homecoming week 2012.
