NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT DAKOTA COUNTY

ORDINANCE No. 132, DAKOTA

COUNTY STORM DRAIN SYSTEM, AND NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given of the Dakota County Board of Commissioners’ intent to adopt Dakota County Ordinance No. 132, Dakota County Storm Drain System.

Summary:

The effect of this ordinance is to allow for appropriate action in the event of an illegal discharge, an illicit connection, or excessive discharges to the Dakota County storm drain system. The Dakota County storm drain system refers to county-owned facilities by which stormwater is collected or conveyed; i.e., roadways, gutters, catch basins, inlets, manholes, pipes, pumping stations, retention and detention basins, natural or altered drainage channels, reservoirs, and other drainage or stormwater management structures.

The Dakota County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing at 9:00 a.m. on September 11, 2012, in the County Board Room, Dakota County Administration Center, 1590 Highway 55, Hastings, Minnesota, for the purpose of receiving comments on the proposed Ordinance No. 132, Dakota County Storm Drain System.

Interested persons attending the public hearing shall have the right to provide written or oral comments. Prior to the public hearing, written comments may be addressed to the Dakota County Water Resources, 14955 Galaxie Avenue, Apple Valley, Minnesota 55124, Attn: Mark Zabel.

All comments will be accepted until 4:30 p.m., September 7, 2012.
