Rosemount United Methodist Church has several concerts coming up that are free and open to the public.
On July 18 the Weigel family will perform at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The Weigel family are a family of classical musicians from Germany. The family will be in the United States to visit family and will give a performance while here. The family is related to Rosemount United Methodist’s weekday custodian, Nina Zverev.
During the Wednesday evening performance, the family of six musicians will perform a number of classical selections. Worship arts director Natalie Olsen said they will perform for about 80 minutes with a short break in the middle.
Members of the family blend a variety of instruments including violin, cello, flute and piano in their concerts. This is not the first time the Weigel family has performed in Rosemount. They did a show at the church in 2007 as well.
In August, Sawtooth Bluegrass Band will perform at the church. Sawtooth is a local band made up of two sets of brothers. Members include Clint, Luke and Shane Birtzer, of Rosemount, and Ethan and Jesse Moravec, of Wabasha. According to their website, the band blends traditional bluegrass with more contemporary sounds. The band recently released their fourth album, “Gunflint Trail.”
Sawtooth will perform on at 7 p.m. Aug. 8 at the church.
