A truck struck a pole at 7:38 a.m. and knocked out power to more than 800 people.
Rosemount police officer Joe Risvold said a large truck, carrying sand, was traveling north on Blaine Avenue when its front right tire hit the gravel along side the road. The gravel collapsed and pulled the truck into the ditch causing the truck to roll. The truck then struck an Xcel Energy pole knocking it over.
Risvold said the driver of the truck was banged up. Paramedics assessed his condition but did not transport him.
Xcel Energy media relations representative Patti Nystuen said 874 customers lost power due to the accident. The company has restored power to all but one customer. Crews are working to replace the pole and restore power to the customer.
The outage affected homes and businesses on Rosemount's east side including Rosemount City Hall and the police department. All services have been restored.
