The Rosemount Black Sox paired their already-hot bats with a couple of solid pitching performances as they stretched their winning streak to four games with a doubleheader sweep of the Lakeville Athletics Sunday afternoon in Rosemount.
The Sox got six shutout innings from Michael Robohm in an abbreviated 10-0 blanking in the opener, and then Andrew Nelson and Phil Goedderz combined to yield four earned runs in a 12-6 rout in Game 2.
The offense has produced 41 runs in its last four games and 69 in its last seven since losing to the Austin Greyhounds 11-1 on June 2.
Jason Kirchman did the most damage in Game 1, going 3 for 4 with three RBI. Mark Radmacher had two hits and Matt Foley drove in a pair.
Leadoff hitter Brady Loew walked twice and scored three runs and Darren McEathron drew two free passes and came home twice out of the two hole.
Robohm allowed just three hits and struck out eight as he improved to 2-1.
Eleven players collected at least one base hit as the Sox pounded out 18 hits in Game 2.
Kirchman made it a six-hit day with another 3-for-4 effort and Lance Anderson was 3 for 5 with three runs scored.
Foley had two hits and three runs scored and Jason Ormond was 2 for 4 with three RBI. Loew added a home run and three RBI.
Nelson picked up the win, holding the Athletics to three earned while fanning four in five innings.
The Black Sox (7-5) are back in action Saturday when they host the Austin Greyhounds.
