A pair of unearned runs in the bottom of the seventh inning allowed Eastview to walk off with a victory and put an end to the Rosemount Senior Babe Ruth team’s four-game winning streak Monday night in Apple Valley.
The Aces (7-4) trailed 5-2 after three innings, but chipped away at Eastview’s lead with one run in the fourth, two in the fifth and to more in the sixth to take a 7-6 lead.
Reese Richards paced a 13-hit attack with a 4-for-4 effort, raising his average to .559 in 10 games this summer. He also drove in a pair of runs with two doubles.
Luke Cassell added three hits and Joe Waite had two. Isaiah Lufkin was 1 for 3 and scored three runs.
Waite started on the mound and allowed six runs (four earned) over the first 4 1/3 innings. Chris Leske got out of the fifth and worked a scoreless sixth before Eastview plated a pair in the seventh.
Leske went the distance on the mound last Thursday when the Aces held on for a 4-2 win at home against Eagan.
Leske allowed two runs on five hits while fanning six in the complete-game effort. He also helped himself with a pair of hits and two RBI.
Richards and Waite also had two hits apiece.
The Aces ripped 17 hits in a 19-9 rout of Faribault last Tuesday.
After plating two runs in the top of the first, Rosemount tacked on six in the second, five in the third and six more in the fifth to end the game by the 10-run rule.
Leske, Reinhardt, Wiita and Breitinger each drove in three runs and Leske, Richards, Reinhardt and Waite each scored three times.
Richards also parked the team’s first home run of the season.
Mitch Olson allowed runs in each of the first four innings, but stuck around to pitch all five. He allowed nine runs on 10 hits and struck out five.
